OXNARD, Calif. – Football season is really here. Real decisions are coming for the Dallas Cowboys regarding the 53-man roster. As training camp opens, our latest thoughts … on a depth chart, featuring the guys who I think either deserve mention for whatever reason or, more important, who truly have a chance of sticking by the time we get to September … Dak Prescott ( ), Cooper Rush Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard, Ryan Nall, Rico DowdleThe Cowboys are good with Zeke and Pollard. Dowdle got mentioned by COO Stephen Jones as a real option, but had a knee scope and won’t be available until some point in camp. Nall will stick on special teams. , Jalen Tolbert, Michael Gallup, James Casey Cizikas Jersey Washington, Noah Brown, Simi FehokoYes, we are jumping the rookie Tolbert to the No. 2 slot. Gallup’s health will eventually change that, and maybe Steelers ex Washington will do enough at camp to elevate himself as well. Tolbert (hamstring) will work in this camp; Washington is hopefully no longer dealing with tendinitis in his left foot. Dalton Schultz, Jake Ferguson, Sean McKeonThe Cowboys have already pretty much announced (via owner Jerry Jones’ draft-day phone call to Ferguson) that the rookie is going to get on the field. Important for this camp? Schultz, playing on the tag, is in for a big year. Tyron Smith T, Matt Waletzko T, Tyler Smith G/T, Connor McGovern G/C, Tyler Biadasz C, Matt Farniok C, Brent Seabrook Jersey Zack Martin G, Terence Steele T, Josh Ball TTyler Smith is the some-day left tackle. But he needs to win the left guard job, and quickly – though McGovern has been the top guy so far. There is real competition at center, and at swing tackle, with Ball seemingly falling behind.Scroll to Continue DeMarcus Lawrence, Dante Fowler, , Sam Williams, Chauncey Golston, Osa Odighizuwa, Neville Gallimore, Carlos Watkins, Quinton Bohanna, John Ridgeway Of all of these guys, Tank is the only defined-role sure thing. Otherwise? Take Watkins: He Bryan Rust Jersey could in theory start at tackle … or he could in theory get cut. Oh, and Osa? Everybody inside the building is praising his offseason work. Meanwhile, ) All of the mentioned ends get a crack at it. … including Williams, the rookie who was the “Player of the Day” at mimicamp. Micah Parsons, Leighton Vander Esch, Jabril Cox, Luke Gifford, Aaron HansfordParsons and Company here. Who gets more snaps, Vander Esch or Cox? Can Gifford do more than special teams? Can Hansford surprise? And of Alex Killorn Jersey course, Cox needs to get healthy first, as he discu ses with us here. Trevon Diggs, Kelvin Joseph, Anthony Brown, Jourdan Lewis, Nahshon Wright, Jayron Kearse, Malik Hooker, Donovan Wilson, CJ Goodwin, Israel Mukuamu, Markquese BellIn a perfect world, Diggs is joined by Joseph atop the depth chart. Dallas re-signed Kearse and Hooker at safety, and way down below there is a shot for an undrafted rookie like Markquese Bell of Florida A&M. K: Lirim Hajrullahu, P: Bryan Anger, LS: Jake McQuaideThe kicker situation is far from settled, with rookie Jonathan Garibay also in play. Anger is the Pro Bowler you hope is rarely used.
OXNARD, Calif. -The all-around ability of Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is no secret. Parsons’ rookie season was dominant, as he came second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.Things did not, however, work out as fortunately for rookie linebacker Jabril Cox. Still, as training camp opens up here in Oxnard,Cox is a pivotal guy – one of “three to watch” at linebacker here in camp.1) Jabril CoxIn Week 8 vs. the Minnesota Vikings, the Cowboys pulled out a narrow 20-16 victory, but lost Cox for the season to a torn ACL. But now comes the good news, as Cox recently told our Mike Mike Schmidt Jersey Fisher of his rehab timetable.”I feel great in my workouts,” When Dallas drafted Cox, the Cowboys got what many considered a steal in the fourth round. In his senior season at LSU, Cox had the highest coverage grade of any linebacker in the draft. Cox posted nine career interceptions in college, with two seasons of three or more interceptions. Additionally, Cox displayed the ability to turn takeaways into six points for his team.Versatility was also an aspect of Cox’s game he displayed in college, as he had three seasons with four or more sacks. Cox posted a very respectable Pro Football Focus grade Aaron Nola Jersey of 73.0 in his 2021 preseason action with Dallas. From the start, Cox has been determined to learn from the veterans in Dallas, citing his desire to take to mentorship last preseason.Scroll to Continue”Leighton, J, Micah, Keanu those guys, they’ve helped out tremendously, especially Luke (Gifford). So just learning from them. I know early on it’s a learning curve, but once I get my opportunity I try to make the most of it,” Cox said.2) Micah ParsonsThis offseason, many wondered if Dallas would addre s the linebacker position and add a star alongside ). We still wonder whether a move like Anthony Barr makes sense. But for now? Micah is No. 1 in so many ways … but Nick Williams Jersey at this point we almost take his excellence for granted. What to watch at camp? As was the case last year: Where does he line up? What will coordinator Dan Quinn cook up? Can he add a knack for interceptions to his playmaking portfolio?3) Aaron HansfordWhat? A UDFA? Yes, and here’s why: Leighton Vander Esch Andrew McCutchen Jersey is a known commodity. If he starts over Cox, Dallas is good. If Cox starts over Vander Esch, Cox must be good. But there is room for another guy to develop, to add depth, to help on teams. We’ll peg Hansford – a top-quality guy at Texas A&M – as an early name to look for at camp.
